This rare coloured Leyland Comet is in yellow cab & chassis, light green wagon and mid green coloured wheels. This example for sale was made from 1957 and is one of the very last Leyland Comets to be made using this colour scheme. Now being that this is a late version, it now has DINKY TOYS [not SUPERTOYS] cast underside on the chassis and the number 417 cast underside of the wagon. DINKY TOYS in the casting was now standard on all models from 1955, and from 1957 all models now used a ‘steel rivet’ to secure the back to the cab & chassis instead of a nut & bolt. It has the correct very late grey tread tyres along with the correct late style, correct issue number 417 box having ‘colour may differ…’ on the lid which is also correctly colour coded on the end with the 6mm adhesive colour code for this colour scheme.
