340/27D Land Rover "Ministry Of Food" promotional model

This very rare example of the Land Rover was produced and issued to the Ministry of Food sales representatives and was given to farmers to promote the products of the Ministry of Food. Made around 1953 to 1954, these Land Rovers were a special commission and so produced in very dark olive green, cream interior [of which is the standard cream as used on other Land Rovers] dark olive green coloured wheels and additional silver detailing which was to give a true representation of the real Land Rover at the time. (see library picture 7). As these models were a promotion and given away they were never issued to or sold in shops and so the box in which it is contained, which is the correct duel number box having both 340 and 27D on the end flaps, has no pricing. Very few of these promotional Land Rovers were produced.

"If you want the best, then this is it".

*Please note the correct way the Land Rover goes in the box. Picture 6.
