This rare Foden Flat Truck with Tailboard is in dark burnt-orange cab & chassis, mustard yellow tailboard and lighter yellow coloured wheels. This colour was made between 1952 & 1953 only, and it uses the early ‘dark’ orange compared to the later examples of the No 902 orange and green flat bed which has a brighter orange in appearance. The flat bed has the correct chain post lugs cast underside [which is a standard casting on all second type Fodens] and being a 1952 issue Foden, it has the correct ‘black nut & bolt’ fixing, and also for this colour model, the correct ‘round tread’ grey tyres. It still retains the protective card behind the cab and is contained in the correct style, correct issue number 503 box and is correctly colour coded on the end with the letter “O”. This has to be one of the best colours produced in the 2nd cab Foden range, and definitely one of our favourites.
